Dear Somerset Bat Group Members!
It’s that time of year again when we start to think about the NBMP surveys!
Below BCT have NBMP online workshops this and next Thursday, and a recorded version of the NBMP presentation. The link to the full version of the recorded presentation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVraodEMCpg.
If anyone would like to sign up for a survey, wants to go out with an experienced surveyor, or has space for surveys to take out a less experienced member please let me know (daniellesmith3009@outlook.com).
Summer is getting into full swing and you may be seeing more bats zipping through the night sky. If you’d like to sharpen your detection skills and become more involved in our surveys, you are welcome to join one of our online workshops. As an NBMP volunteer you get generous discounts on our workshops.
We currently have two online workshops which you can attend from wherever you live.
NBMP Level 1 Bat Detector Workshop (7PM Thursday 8th June)
This workshop provides an introduction to using a tuneable heterodyne bat detector and fundamental species identification skills. It will include training on carrying out the Waterway Survey in August.
