2023 NBMP Roost emergence counts
There were 15 roost emergencies counted in 2023, one more than last year. But the numbers counted remain down on peak 2019 levels, with only 75% of the 2019 roosts counted in 2023.

- 2 Common pipistrelle roosts counted (-2 on last year, and 2019)
- 2 Greater Horseshoe roost counted (+1 on last year, but -1 on 2019)
- 8 Lesser Horseshoe roosts counted (+2 on last year, and +1 on 2019)
- 1 Natterer’s roost counted (same as last year, -1 on 2019)
- 1 Serotine roosts counted (same as last year, -1 on 2020)
- 0 Soprano pipistrelle roosts counted (same as last year, -1 on 2019)

The first year with limited Covid-19 impact. There was one more roost emergence counted in 2022 than last year. But the numbers counted remain down on peak 2019 levels.
